My name is Katie Page! I am the receptionist here at the main office. My job is to welcome, so I do my best to be friendly and positive. I also handle of a lot of filing, filling order requests, and handling appointments. I feel rather like a jack-of-all trades and love it.
My favourite BCRS moment? I have several! There are lots of staff and clients who make my day brighter. How could I choose just one?
I have been trying to improve my French, albeit very slowly. And I have been planning my daughter’s third birthday party.
Outside of work, I am a proud mom, I play World of Warcraft, read, and do quite a bit of crafting! I have a weakness for themed parties/events.
Fun fact? I can remember gosh-awful dad with no problem, and I have been writing a Sci-Fi novel for the last few years. There may be horrible puns in said novel…
My favourite work snack is probably carrots and peanut butter, but a nice crisp apple is second best!
Hello, I'm Marc Beckstead. I have been with BCRS since 2018, working as a Behavioural Counsellor. Last year, I made the switch to BCRS's Social Media Consultant and I absolutely love crafting posts from the fantastic photos showcasing residents having a blast in their activities!
While I have numerous cherished moments at BCRS, my favorite involves our house trip to Omega Park. The entire day was incredible and witnessing the joy it brought to the residents truly created a wholesome memory for me.
Professionally, I am working towards getting better every day at using new technology and ways to improve BCRS visibility online. Personally, I am working towards eating healthier and living a more holistic lifestyle.
If you know me, you know I am a big fan of sports… Playing and watching, hockey and baseball being my favourites. I also enjoy learning about the timeline of our planet and how we have become who we are today!
A fun fact about me is that I have lived and played hockey in both France and Italy!
Peanut butter and banana sandwich with a cold glass of milk!
Hello, I am Emily Gibbons! I have been in this line of work since 2006 and at BCRS since 2018! I am the supervisor of the French Hill program and have had the pleasure of watching the clients grow and learn since 2019. Best team in the agency!
That's tough, to pick just one. I love our BCRS functions. My favourite one was the Food Trucks that we had one summer. Clients and staff were so happy!
Professionally, my goal is to always help my staff grow and learn. And of course, make a perfect score on my monthly appraisal! Personally, my goal is always to help my children grow and learn! And be more organized.
I love to craft, no specific craft, I just like to create things. Consequently, I also love to collect crafts. I also LOVE to read and I run two kids book clubs at my local library.
A fun fact Hmmmmm... I've lived in four provinces and been to all ten. No territories yet!
The chocolate chip cookies from Costco, which my staff now call Emily's cookies!
Hello, I am David Desmarais! I joined BCRS in March 2020, starting at The Emmett residence, and later was promoted to 2-Key in August 2021. Outside of work, I'm an active guy, thanks to the Goodlife fitness deal from BCRS. On Wednesday nights, you can find me at Rockland Boston Pizza for trivia with friends and family. I also love reading on my Kindle and giving back to my community through volunteering. The Big Brother volunteering program @ Rockland Valoris has always been a passion, making it easy for me to adapt to my role as a behavioral counselor. I'm truly enjoying my time here at BCRS!
I worked with a resident who expressed a desire to travel to Montreal, so the team collaborated to organize a successful day trip. We had a fantastic time, prompting us to plan an overnight stay a year later! The experience was filled with laughter, pictures, and lasting memories. The resident caught the travel bug and we can't wait for our next adventure.
I'm satisfied with my professional goals and maintaining a good work/life balance at the moment and would dislike for any adjustments to jeopardize this balance. On a personal note, my goals include getting a minimum of 8 hours of sleep per day, procrastinating less, and improving my response time to text messages to the same day I receive them (lol).
I LOVE to read. It's how I start and end my day. I carry my Kindle with me everywhere I go. I'll cycle at the gym and read. It's as easy and accessible as checking your phone. I recommend a Kindle to everyone!
My father and I share the same birthday, October 16th!
I always have 1.8kg of Kirkland/Costco trail mix bag at work. It’s basically smarties with obstacles. I love it.
